Description:
In 1981, Eugene Cuffee, along with Brad Smith and James Eleazer, were inspired to remove a large rock from our West Woods beach and have it placed at the flag pole on the reservation to honor and pay special tribute to all Shinnecock men and women who served in the United States forces in all wars from the American Revolution to the present. This was done to replace the honor roll that had been dedicated to our WWII Vets.
One June Meeting Sunday a special dedication and a parade was done to commemorate the placing of the rock at the flag pole.
