Description:
Margo Thunder Bird, Shinnecock, and Robert Blackgoat, Navajo. Margo Thunder Bird was invited to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the city of Berlin in East Germany at a Press Festival held in the Friedrichshain district of East Berlin on June 15, 1987. Eventful conversations were held between international guests and the two Indian women who informed the meeting of the struggle of the Navajo Tribe against the forced relocation from their homelands at Big Mountain, Arizona, and, for the release of the imprisoned leader, Leonard Peltier. There were many expressions of understanding, sympathy and solidarity for the Native American concerns.
